A USAP member watches from the tower at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station as an aircraft arrives to take some USAP members to McMurdo Station from where they will go to New Zealand then back to the USA. After about nine months, the "winter-overs" have finally "left The Ice." This photo was sent to us some weeks ago by our pen pal John Miller, USAP. Most "winter-overs" began leaving South Pole in November, 2008.
